# VibePass Homepage — Competitive Positioning Content

**Goal of this content:** reframe the homepage away from "Vulai is our flagship" and
position VibePass as the modern, lower-fee, M-Pesa-native alternative to **Mookh** and
**HustleSasa**. Vulai is removed from this section entirely — it lives on `/events/vulai`
and as one card in the "What's on" row.

> **One framing fix first:** the current eyebrow "WHAT VIBEPASS PRODUCES" reads like
> VibePass *produces* events. It doesn't — it's the ticketing rails other organizers run
> on. The category grid should say "these are the kinds of events that sell on VibePass,"
> not "events we make." Copy below corrects that.

## Part 1 — The competitive read (synthesis)

Three players, one obvious gap. Everything below is built on published/advertised rates
(see the verify note at the end before this goes live).

| | **VibePass** | HustleSasa | Mookh |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organizer fee | **0.75% + KES 30/ticket** (or KES 0 — pass it to buyers) | Service fees **from 5.8%** | **~8%** commission on sales |
| Payout speed | **Instant M-Pesa**, during the event | ~24-hour settlement | Standard settlement |
| Branding | **Full white-label** — your logo on page, checkout & ticket | Storefront under their marketplace | Their platform |
| Door check-in | **Offline QR scanner**, multiple lists, live count | App check-in | Standard |
| Ownership option | **Buy the licence once — unlimited events, no per-ticket fee ever** | Commission forever | Commission forever |

**The five things that make this a real argument, not marketing air:**

1. **The fee gap is the whole story.** VibePass is nearly flat (0.75% + KES 30) while both
   rivals are pure percentage. The more your ticket costs, the more absurd the gap gets:

   | Ticket price | VibePass | HustleSasa (5.8%) | Mookh (8%) |
   |---|---|---|---|
   | KES 1,000 | **KES 37.50** | KES 58 | KES 80 |
   | KES 2,000 | **KES 45** | KES 116 | KES 160 |
   | KES 5,000 | **KES 67.50** | KES 290 | KES 400 |

   On a 500-ticket show at KES 2,000, that's roughly **KES 22,500** to VibePass vs
   **KES 58,000+** to HustleSasa or **KES 80,000** to Mookh. Real money that stays with
   the organizer.

2. **Instant M-Pesa payout is the emotional hook.** Rivals settle after the fact. VibePass
   drops money to your till/paybill/bank *while the gates are still open.* Organizers feel
   that on event night.

3. **White-label vs. borrowed brand.** Mookh and HustleSasa put your event on *their*
   marketplace. VibePass puts your logo on the page, the checkout and the ticket. You look
   like a platform, not a tenant.

4. **The door works offline.** Field reality in Kenya: venue Wi-Fi dies, the queue doesn't.
   Offline scanning is a concrete operational win rivals don't lead with.

5. **The ownership model is genuinely unique.** "Buy the rights once, run unlimited events,
   never pay per-ticket again" has no equivalent at Mookh or HustleSasa. It's the line for
   promoters and production houses who resent commission-forever.

## Part 2 — Homepage copy (paste-ready)

### 2a. Reframed category section (replaces the Vulai-flagship block)

```ts
export const PRODUCES = {
  // was: "WHAT VIBEPASS PRODUCES"
  eyebrow: "EVERY KIND OF EVENT",
  // was: "Vulai is our flagship — not our only stage"
  heading: "If people gather for it, VibePass sells the ticket.",
  body: "Concerts, culture festivals, gaming nights, workshops, wellness, nightlife — every scene has its own crowd, its own format and its own way to sell. VibePass powers all of them on one set of rails, with instant M-Pesa checkout and the lowest fees in Kenya.",
};
```

*Heading alternatives:*
- `One platform. Every scene in Kenya.`
- `Built for every crowd, from a 50-seat mixer to a stadium.`
- `The ticketing rails behind Kenya's best nights.`

The six category cards you already have (Music & Entertainment, Culture & Lifestyle,
Heritage & Creativity, Gaming & Esports, Education & Pro Development, Wellness & Community,
Lifestyle & Entertainment) **stay as-is** — they're doing the "we power many scenes" job
well. Just remove any Vulai-specific caption if one is baked into a card.

### 2b. New competitive section (the "why us over them" block)

```ts
export const WHY_VIBEPASS = {
  eyebrow: "WHY VIBEPASS",
  heading: "Modern rails. Kenyan fees. Your brand.",
  body: "Ticketing in Kenya was built to take a cut and make you wait. VibePass flips it: a tiny flat fee instead of a fat percentage, M-Pesa money in your account before the show ends, and every page under your own brand — not a marketplace's.",
};
export const WHY_POINTS = [
  {
    label: "Keep more of every ticket",
    body: "0.75% + KES 30 a ticket — or pass it to buyers and pay KES 0. Compare that to the 6–8% the old platforms still charge.",
  },
  {
    label: "Get paid before the gates close",
    body: "Instant M-Pesa payouts to your till, paybill or bank as sales come in. No 24-hour wait, no agent reconciliation.",
  },
  {
    label: "Your brand, not ours",
    body: "Fully branded event pages, checkout and tickets. Your logo, your colours — buyers never leave your world for a marketplace.",
  },
  {
    label: "A door that works offline",
    body: "Fast QR scanning with multiple check-in lists and a live head-count — even when the venue Wi-Fi gives up.",
  },
  {
    label: "Own it outright",
    body: "Buy the rights once and run unlimited events under your own brand — no per-ticket commission, ever. Built for promoters and production houses.",
  },
];
```

---

### 2c. Fee-gap hero stat (optional strip above or below the section)

Punchy one-liners — pick one:

- **"KES 37.50 vs KES 80."** *The same KES 1,000 ticket. That's the difference between VibePass and the platform you're on now.*
- **"Stop paying 8% to sell your own tickets."**
- **"A flat fee, not a fat cut."**

---

### 2d. Comparison table for the page (buyer-facing wording)

Keep it factual and dated. Suggested header: **"See the difference"**

| | VibePass | Others |
|---|---|---|
| Fee per ticket | 0.75% + KES 30 (or KES 0 to you) | 5.8%–8% commission |
| Payout | Instant M-Pesa | After the event |
| Branding | Fully yours | Their marketplace |
| Door scanning | Works offline | Online only |
| Own it outright | Yes — buy the licence | No |

---

### 2e. CTA

- Primary: **"Sell your next event on VibePass"** → onboarding
- Secondary: **"See our pricing"** → pricing page

---

## Part 3 — Before it goes live (do not skip)

1. **Re-verify competitor fees yourself.** HustleSasa's "from 5.8%" is current from their
   pricing page; the **Mookh ~8% figure comes from an older 2022 roundup** and may have
   moved. Naming a competitor's exact rate on your own homepage is fine *only if it's true
   today* — confirm both before publishing, or soften to "6–8%" / "the old platforms" and
   drop the named per-competitor numbers from the public page (keep them in your internal
   sales deck instead).
2. **Keep competitor mentions factual, never insulting.** "Charges more" is fair game;
   anything that reads as an attack invites a fight you don't need.
3. **Match the naming to your codebase.** The live site + this screenshot use **VibePass**,
   but `platform-content.ts` still says "Shamz Events & Ticketing." Decide the one public
   name (VibePass, or "VibePass by Shamz") and make the homepage, metadata title and
   content files agree — otherwise the fee argument lands on a page with two names.
4. **Confirm the KES 0.75% + 30 line matches your actual live pricing** before you build a
   whole comparison around it.
